I definitely did not expect this venue to be like this. Attended the inspire promotion 'Rule in Hell' pro wrestling event & in the words of any true wrestling fanatic. It was awesome!!!. It's your typical whole in the wall dive. Outside, hot, and hard. The perfect condition for great wrestling. The Venue was large enough to accommodate maybe 100 folks. Drinks and merchandise were available for purchase at the venue.
This is a really interesting venue. If you're short and want to have a prayer of seeing anything, you need to get there early enough to get a space inside. Otherwise you're gonna be dealing with a lot of obstructed views. The sound quality is good and the bartenders are friendly. Really enjoyed the courtyard/patio area. If you lose your ID, they won't accept a digital copy of anything. It has to be physical but you can still can in for an al ages show with the black x on your hands. Doesn't matter if you obviously look like you're older than the door staff lol.
Great venue. Saw clown core. All ages brought an 8 year old. People treated him fair he was walking round doing his thing. Got a little hectic when the pit started but he was safe up front by the stage. Had to get a little physical throwing bows in order to hold my spot down but that’s how hardcore/ metal shows can be. Would go again minus the child tho. Clown Core and DJ driver were excellent.
Great venue!
First & foremost: sound has generally been pretty great for each show I've been to.
Being able to see the bands has been mostly fine, IF I stay inside the garage itself (any further back and the concrete is sloped (like a driveway. To a...garage) and it gets really difficult to see)
Bars have a decentish craft beer selection, St Elmo hop water (YESSS!!), Lone Stars (add some Lone Star Lights, plz!), and generally some tasty tasty themed cocktails. 🍻😃
First time at Empire went in knowing it was one level only aka PAIN for anyone shirt and it was fine! Can't comment on parking didn't bother and caught a ride downtown. Girls bathrooms were what you expect on Red River and near 6th Street. They were well stocked with toilet paper! They had a well kept water cooler by the sound booth in the back because the venue is partially outside/inside a garage (hence the name). My spot for the Loveless concert ended up being towards the back right where the garage doors open and where the fans hit. Hint: Choose wherever the fans blow. Pictures taken in the crevices of taller people in front of me on Auto zoomed in on a S23 Galaxy Ultra. Overall not bad I bet the concerts during Austin 's cooler months are nice!
Where is the worst place for a short person to stand at a concert? … Behind anyone at all.
We have a love/hate with venues. It doesn’t matter how fancy the venue is or the proximity to the artists, it about the actual ability to just see the artists. We have been to venues where my partner couldn’t the performers at all.
So if you’re like us, you might skip venues with only GA or floor tickets. If you are, I think you’ll pleasantly surprised with Empire. Pics are from the back without zoom.
And the staff was great (shoutout Ty), drink prices are good, food trucks nearby, and lots of parking choices.
I loved the music. Ring performed all the way from Oregon. Got to meet him and his brother. He speaks very highly of my daughter Gezelle who was there with me and my youngest Jeannette. Awesome time.
Bad sight lines to the stage inside the garage. The old driveway into the garage slopes down to the street so if you’re standing outside, your view is blocked by anyone’s shoulders standing in front of you. If you’re standing inside and its a crowded event, it is a tight squeeze so beware if you’re claustrophobic. The photo i post here is kneeling on a barstool in the back. Video is from the soundboard
